This position is designed to supplement weekend staffing, ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation and Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, gathering data from various sources, including patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Develop treatment plans that integrate with the continuum of care, setting specific goals and objectives.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Assessment and Interpretation: Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
  • Equipment Management: Demonstrate competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession-specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
  • Documentation and Communication: Re-evaluate and modify treatment plans and goals when appropriate, preparing written documentation as required by the department and the care team. Recognize and communicate when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure accurate billing, adhere to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice, and maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Training: Bachelor's degree from an approved program in occupational therapy.
  • Licensure and Certification: Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification and current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida (temporary permit acceptable).
  • Experience: None required.
