Key Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Information System Security Specialist (RMF) to support critical cybersecurity initiatives.

The role involves providing engineering expertise in Cyber Situational Awareness (SA), Cyber Command and Control (C2), Mission Assurance, and Homeland Defense. Key tasks include:
  • Conducting Agile software engineering within a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) framework.
  • Performing Cloud architectural design, operational management, and administration.
  • Offering cyber security and Risk Management Framework (RMF) support.
  • Rapidly designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and operating software and hardware solutions to address current Cyber Defensive requirements.
Specific Duties
  • Delivering technical and programmatic Information Assurance Services to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring robust network and information security systems.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing security protocols within organizational processes, and preparing documentation in accordance with established guidelines such as RMF.
  • Creating comprehensive test plans and providing assessment and authorization (A&A) support for security and contingency strategies.
  • Conducting thorough risk and vulnerability assessments and analyzing policies against Federal regulations to identify and recommend improvements.
  • Developing and finalizing system security and contingency plans, while suggesting enhancements to mitigate security weaknesses.
  • Integrating and testing computer and network security tools, ensuring compliance through systematic evaluations.
  • Executing security program audits and devising solutions to minimize identified risks, while developing strategies to adhere to privacy and risk management standards.
  • Providing information assurance support for the creation and implementation of security architectures that meet evolving requirements.
  • Evaluating and enhancing security policies and tools, and assisting in computer incident investigations.
  • Performing vulnerability assessments and formulating risk mitigation strategies.
  • Executing COMSEC responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a BS/BA degree, or 3 years with an MS/MA degree. Equivalent experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in Risk Management Framework activities.
  • Proven experience conducting STIG assessments using SCAP benchmarks.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in vulnerability assessments utilizing the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution tool.
  • Familiarity with STIG and eMASS.
  • Experience in developing Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) entries.
  • Experience in completing RMF Step 5 authorizations in the capacity of Information System Security Engineer (ISSE).
  • Ability to communicate risk reduction recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Possession of IAT Level II certification.
  • Minimum certification as 461 (or equivalent) at the Intermediate level as per DoDD requirements.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the capability to obtain SCI access.
