">About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medical Progressive Care unit (D6/5) at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals who provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients. You will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment, working with a variety of medical diagnoses and comorbidities.

As an Acute Medical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of individualized care plans. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to acutely ill adult patients, including those with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patients' medical histories, current conditions, and treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, progress, and results.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and excellence within the unit, contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent experience.
  • Current WI nursing license or compact license from permanent address state.
  • A minimum of 2 years of acute care experience, preferably in IMC or ICU settings.
  • Experience with transplant and tracheostomy patients.
  • Basic Arrhythmia experience and certification through American Heart Association.
  • Reference requirements: two references from recent work environments or assignments.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
