Job Summary

PPL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Director to lead our maintenance team in a creative and expanded direction. This role is responsible for overseeing the condition of all PPL buildings, developing and implementing processes to maintain them, and supervising maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain all PPL buildings and units to PPL standards and within budget constraints.
  • Oversee major capital improvements, providing cost estimates and project recommendations.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Design and implement preventative maintenance plans.
  • Oversee the progress of building-specific projects and maintain a tracking report.
  • Direct periodic physical assessments of all properties and ensure repair follow-up.
  • Manage the transition of new properties from the Development phase to the Property Management phase.
  • Advises PPL Development on issues and updates regarding PPL Standards.
  • Evaluates prospective properties and leads PMD's involvement in the design and construction of new properties.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in construction, property management, housing, or related field, or 5-7 years of experience in residential property maintenance.
  • Demonstrated success in a supervisory capacity.
  • Organizational, supervisory, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in general maintenance, including HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
  • Boiler's license.
  • Valid Minnesota drivers license with a good driving record and own vehicle with proof of auto insurance.
  • Knowledge of multi-family building structures and systems.
  • Familiarity with Uniform Building Code and local building inspections procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral, and electronic.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and speak effectively before staff members.
  • Capable of working sensitively with persons of all races and abilities.
