Key Responsibilities- Repair and overhaul buses, coaches, trollies, trams, railway cars, and other automotive vehicles
- Plan work procedures, raise vehicles, and inspect parts for wear
- Disassemble and reassemble units, rewiring lights and instrument panels, and troubleshooting issues
- Reline and adjust brakes, align front ends, repair or replace shock absorbers, and solder leaks in radiators
- Mend damaged body and fenders, replace and adjust headlights, and install and repair accessories
- Perform additional cross-functional duties as requested by the Production Supervisor
- Knowledge of computer software associated with specific diesel engines
- Strong electrical knowledge and possession of a mechanic's tool set
- Ability to work under minimum supervision in a team-oriented environment
- Automotive/Diesel training or certification is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Carry, pull, and push up to 50 pounds of dead weight
- Climb up and down a ladder
- Sit, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, walk, crouch, and crawl
- Twist or turn in confined spaces
