Job Summary

The Indian Health Board of Minneapolis is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in the preparation of grant reports, participate in the month-end close, manage fixed assets, assist in the preparation of audit support, and run monthly financial reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and/or enter standard general journal entries in Excel journals.
  • Reconcile General Ledger Balance Sheet accounts to the Excel Reconciliation files monthly and make recommendations for corrections.
  • Manage Fixed Assets, including bi-annual inventory.
  • Reconcile monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Data entry into accounting software.
  • Monthly department and grant reporting.
  • Grant Invoicing.
  • Grant budgeting assistance.
  • 340B program reconciliation, reporting, and general ledger entry.
  • Prepare and/or enter month-end Indirect Rate entries.
  • Prepare monthly deductions reports.
  • Prepare audit support documentation.
  • Enter and report grant budgets in Abila Accounting Software.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Respond to department manager inquiries regarding grant/contracts.
  • Grant compliance activities.
  • Attend department-wide meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Finance Director.
Requirements
  • Four-year degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in fund accounting.
  • Exceptional experience with computers, especially Excel.
  • Sage or Abila Accounting Software experience a plus.
  • Healthcare background and/or non-profit experience preferred.
