Job Overview

Staples is a business-to-business company seeking a talented individual to join our engineering team as a Supply Chain Controls Engineer Intern. This role will provide an opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing and commissioning control systems to collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of programs for Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs) using ladder logic and structured text
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate conveyor control solutions, automated material handling equipment, and autonomous vehicles
  • Create and maintain electrical schematic drawings
  • Develop and debug controls system software
  • Perform necessary electrical field wiring
Learning Objectives
  • Identify and define the hardware needed for a control system update
  • Setup of Ethernet communication network between PLCs and field devices
  • Understand product lifetime cycle
  • Project planning
Requirements
  • Rising senior, pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
