Core Duties
- Engage primarily in the development of geotechnical documentation, encompassing thorough analysis and actionable recommendations while maintaining a strong focus on project timelines.
- Deliver comprehensive project management services and foster effective collaboration with all project stakeholders.
- Facilitate or participate in client meetings to review submitted reports and offer technical solutions as required.
- Conduct analyses related to slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement.
- Support the proper execution of foundation designs, retaining structures, and other geotechnical systems.
- Oversee and conduct field investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing, while addressing rig access challenges.
- Prepare drilling documentation and secure necessary utility clearances.
- Classify soil samples and coordinate laboratory testing.
- Monitor the integrity of geotechnical structures and suggest maintenance or corrective actions as needed.
- Engage in risk evaluation and formulate mitigation strategies for ground-related challenges.
- Provide insights on soil enhancement methods, including compaction and the application of geosynthetics.
- Manage construction materials testing (CMT) initiatives, reviewing daily reports, resolving issues, and training field personnel on your projects.
- Draft both geotechnical and CMT proposals while supporting business development initiatives.
- Stay informed about the latest industry standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is mandatory.
- Related degrees may be considered with proven experience in geotechnical documentation and practical application of civil engineering principles.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally encompassing a blend of residential, commercial, and public sector infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
- Proficient understanding of geotechnical and construction materials testing ASTM standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams, with clients, peers, and subordinates, as well as independently.
- Solid grasp of soil mechanics principles.
- Familiarity with foundation engineering and slope stability assessments.
- Proficient in using geotechnical software for analysis and design tasks, such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT, LPILE/Allpile, among others.
