Job Title: Custodian

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our Facilities Management Team at Clear Creek School District RE-1.

Job Summary:

The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. This role requires a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Vacuum and clean floors, remove trash, and assist with snow removal from walkways and other areas.
  • Set up for groups and special events or activities by staff or outside usage.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
  • Oversee the general security of the facility during regular shift.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Less than one (1) year job-related experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Work Environment:

The Custodian will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements:

The Custodian will be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
