Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Family Medicine team at Corewell Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate efficient and effective patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by providers.
  • Perform necessary administrative duties to ensure all information is current and updated, including maintenance and monitoring of electronic health records.
  • Maintain and clean the environment, work area, equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate with patients and significant others in a manner consistent with caring and respect.
  • Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient data and patient needs as directed.
  • Document care consistent with documentation guidelines and patient chargeable items/services according to standards.
  • Ensure processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency, engaging in process and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), or AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 120 days.
Work Environment

This role is based at our Sparta location, with a full-time schedule of 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
