Position Overview

Certification Requirements
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is mandatory for specific roles.
  • BLS: Basic Life Support certification is required for all personnel.
  • PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is necessary for designated areas.
  • NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure certification is essential for certain specialties.
  • TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course certification is required for emergency roles.
  • National Tech Certification: Verification needed for applicable technical positions.
  • State License Verification: Alaska State License is required.
  • Wound Care Certification: Required for specialists in wound care.
  • Medication Test: Pharmacology competency is required across specialties.
  • Competency Exams: Required for all surgical technologists.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency: Required for emergency specialty roles.
Job Responsibilities
  • Specialty: Surgical Services
  • Position: OR Technician
  • Types of Cases: Experience with pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, orthopedic, general, neurological, and trauma cases is required.
  • Preferred Cases: Experience with pediatrics, ENT, plastics, and robotics is advantageous.
  • Operating Rooms: Four operating rooms available.
  • Guaranteed Hours: Up to 36 hours guaranteed, with potential for 40 hours per week.
  • Scrub Color: Navy blue scrubs provided for OR personnel.
  • Charting System: Cerner.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in relevant specialties.
  • Weekend Availability: Required based on unit needs.
  • BLS Certification: Mandatory.
  • On-call Requirement: Yes, seven days within a 12-week period.
  • Floating: Flexibility to float to meet facility needs.
  • Local Radius: Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius.
  • RTO Restrictions: Limited to one week, with holiday scheduling considerations.
Schedule Information
  • Shift: Variable shifts, including evenings.
  • On-call: Required as per schedule.
