Job Summary:

A skilled Radiology Practitioner Assistant is sought to provide primary health care services in medical imaging with physician supervision at the University of Rochester. This role involves exercising autonomy in decision making and patient management, ensuring high-quality patient care and contributing to the Department of Imaging Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient schedules and determine optimal skill utilization
  • Perform procedures including fluoroscopic, ultrasound, CT, and fluoroscopic guided biopsies and drainages
  • Obtain clinical history from patients or medical records
  • Evaluate medical images and prepare technical reports
  • Participate in patient management and prescriptive powers for additional imaging procedures
  • Administer intravenous medications and contrast media
  • Contribute to facility quality assurance programs


Requirements:

  • Graduate of an educational program recognized by the CBRPA
  • Certified by the CBRPA or eligible for certification examination
  • Maintenance of active radiographer registration status and current certification in Advanced Life Support (ACLS) skills
  • Registration by the State of New York as a Radiologic Specialist Assistant under Title 8, Article 131-C, Section 6548, Education Law and Part 60 of the New York State Education Department Commissioner's Regulations
