Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Management: Assess and manage critically ill patients in the ICU, delivering immediate and ongoing medical care.
- Procedural Expertise: Perform essential procedures such as intubation, central line placements, and lumbar punctures as dictated by patient needs.
- Consultative Role: Offer expert medical consultations to fellow healthcare professionals regarding the management of critically ill patients.
- Collaborative Care: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, hospitalists, and other specialists, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Diagnostic Analysis: Analyze and interpret diagnostic data from various sources to inform patient care decisions.
- Patient Education: Provide education to patients and their families about treatment options, potential complications, and care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient interactions and treatment plans in the Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Leadership: Foster a culture of clinical excellence and mentorship within the ICU, guiding junior staff and promoting continuous learning.
- Quality Improvement: Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care quality and participate in relevant clinical research.
- Emergency Response: React swiftly to acute changes in patient conditions and coordinate with emergency response teams as necessary.
- Ethical Compliance: Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and respect for autonomy.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification/eligibility in Critical Care Medicine.
- Active medical license in the state of Florida.
- Preferred minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an ICU setting.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
