Position Overview

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a dedicated Electrophysiology Technician to join our team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality clinical support in the field of electrophysiology.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this position include:

  • Providing clinical and technical assistance to Electrophysiologists during complex invasive electrophysiology procedures.
  • Assisting in the execution of various procedures within the Electrophysiology lab, including device implantation and arrhythmia ablation.
  • Delivering comprehensive patient care by gathering and managing all relevant information pertaining to electrophysiology procedures.
  • Performing arrhythmia ablations and supporting the mapping and implantation of cardiac devices such as loop recorders, pacemakers, and defibrillators.
  • Operating in various roles during procedures, including circulating technologist, scrub technologist, or monitoring technologist.
  • Ensuring the safe setup and operation of equipment, while identifying and troubleshooting any equipment issues that may arise.
  • Applying scientific principles related to clinical electrophysiology to provide effective technical support and patient care services.
  • Monitoring patients for physiological and behavioral changes during procedures and intervening as necessary within the scope of licensure.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • An Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field, or completion of a Radiological Technologist program, along with one year of relevant experience.
  • Current licensure as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Radiologic Technologist through the appropriate state department.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from a recognized organization.
  • For lead positions, a minimum of two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrophysiology protocols and equipment, along with the ability to oversee and train staff effectively.
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification is preferred or must be obtained within six months of hire for lead roles.
