We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computed Tomography Technologist II to join our team at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine to complex diagnostic CT procedures, including common and special CT exams of high difficulty.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, including common and special CT exams, using x-ray images and computer processing to generate pictures of tissue densities through the patient's body.
- Assess, identify, and respond to the needs of patients for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
- Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or special CT procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
- Work independently, handling challenging/difficult diagnostic procedures and patient care situations, demonstrating sound judgment, and executing above-average clinical skills.
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations section.
- Three years of experience as a CT Technologist.
- ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer (ARRT), ARRT-THR - Radiologic Technologist - Radiation Therapy (ARRT), CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), ARRT-CT - Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography (ARRT), CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure, CMRT-Temp - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Temporary State Licensure, and BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certifications.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The employee must be able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed. The employee must also be able to stand for long periods, walk, and move quickly and safely throughout the hospital.
