Job Title: Animal Care Attendant

Job Summary:

At Destination Pet LLC, we're seeking an exceptional Animal Care Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our pet care team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care and attention to our furry guests.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sanitize and Clean Facilities: Maintain a clean and sanitized environment for our pets, including enclosures, general boarding areas, and food prep spaces.
  • Food and Water Service: Ensure each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal, and maintain cleanliness of food prep areas.
  • Monitoring and Charting: Accurately chart consumption and elimination of every pet guest, and bring concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Visual Checks: Visually check pet guests for safety and well-being throughout the day.
  • Supervision and Assistance: May be required to supervise group play for dogs and/or individual activities for pet guests, and assist with bathing and brushing of canine guests.
  • Waste Removal: Check and pick up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed throughout the day.
  • Belongings and Laundry: Monitor pet belongings, clean belongings as needed, and assure the return of pet belongings to owners.
  • Housekeeping: Perform daily laundering of pet bedding and towels.

Requirements:

Expertise & Experience:

  • Pet Enthusiasm: Must be a pet fanatic - pets are part of our family.
  • Animal Care Experience: Professional animal care/kennel experience preferred.
  • Professional Manner: Displays a professional manner at all times.
  • Entry Level Role: Entry Level role. High school/ College/ Teenagers 16+ encouraged to apply.

Physical:

  • Availability: Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Lifting and Mobility: Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift, stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
  • Animal Handling: Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
  • Environmental Adaptability: Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.

Reporting and Perks:

Reports to: General Manager

Perks: PT Health insurance, PT mental Health, PT telehealth.

Pay: $10.10 - $15.00/hour DOE.
