Job Description
Patient Care Responsibilities
As a Patient Care Associate with Bethesda Health, you will play a vital role in providing essential patient care services, including assistance with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, elimination, and safety. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurses to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care and attention.
You will be responsible for documenting patient information accurately, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the well-being of residents through consistent interactions and prompt responses to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care support services as directed by Charge Nurses
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to Charge Nurses
- Maintain effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff
- Assist with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, elimination, and safety needs of patients
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
Certifications and Training:
- Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state of employment
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within six months of employment
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma preferred, but not required
- Long-term care experience preferred
Personal Qualities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
- Able to lift heavy objects using proper techniques
- Able to transfer and move patients safely
