Position Overview:
The Radiation Therapist 2 is a licensed professional who operates under the general supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist. This role plays a crucial part in executing the organizational objectives of the Radiation Oncology Unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, and aligning with the institutional philosophy.
The Radiation Therapist 2 is expected to demonstrate technical proficiency, take on leadership responsibilities for Radiation Therapist 1, and collaborate effectively with various departmental areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer ionizing radiation to patients as per physician instructions and departmental standards.
- Adhere to state regulations and Baptist Health System policies and procedures.
- Uphold the Mission and Vision of the entity and department, along with BHSF's Service Excellence philosophy.
- Act as a senior resource and coordinate technical activities during emergency or unusual situations as required.
Compensation:
The estimated pay range for this position is $53.70 per hour, contingent upon experience.
Qualifications:
- An associate's degree is mandatory.
- Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support, ARRT Registered Technologist - Radiation Therapy.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate of Science in Radiation Therapy or Associate in Radiologic Science with Radiation Therapy Certification. After January 2015, an Associate degree with Radiation Therapy Certification is required.
- A fundamental understanding of Radiation Oncology technical and theoretical components is essential. Certification must be obtained from an institution accredited by ARRT. Candidates should have completed one full year at BHSF or possess three years of clinical experience at an external facility.
