Staff Accountant Job Description

Welcome to Lennar Homes, where we build more than just homes - we build careers. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in our financial team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end close and ensure timely completion of financial reports.
  • Maintain sound accounting methods and systems in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries, bank account and general ledger reconciliations, and assist in special projects analysis.
  • Oversee reconciliation of suspense account activities, recording incoming wire transfers and returned items, and ensure accuracy of monthly backlog profitability reports.
  • Assist in preparation of weekly reporting requirements and prepare monthly revenue entries, various month-end accruals, reclass and allocation entries.
  • Run ESSBASE system on a daily basis during the month-end close and intermittently throughout the month to track all overhead expenses for accuracy and to compare to original budgets, projections, and forecasts.
  • Run monthly fixed assets when required and prepare commission package for review.
  • Support accounts payable activities and perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years general accounting experience required.
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • JD Edwards experience preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
