We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Mercy Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care, including vital sign measurement, personal care, and hygiene, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional.
- Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes and concerns.
- Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees.
- Document patient care accurately and precisely, as required.
- Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs.
- Perform delegated tasks after competency validation.
- Mobilize patients using therapeutic transfer techniques to foster independence and safety.
- Foster independence by encouraging patients to complete tasks as independently as possible.
- Individualize care based on patient interests and hobbies.
- Successful completion of a nursing aide training program or equivalent.
- Current certification as a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA), Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), or completion of a nursing program with clinical nursing courses.
- Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility, with a preference for the setting in which they are applying.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
