Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Specialist to join our team at TEKsystems. This role involves the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems in various commercial settings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Routing and installing CAT5 or CAT6 cabling in both new and existing commercial buildings.
  • Terminating data outlets to ensure optimal connectivity.
  • Setting up support frameworks including ladders, racks, and j-hooks.
  • Constructing and organizing cable management areas (MDF/IDFs).

Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the installation and servicing of voice and data systems within a commercial context.
  • Proficiency with essential telecom tools such as punch down tools, wire snips, wire strippers, and cordless drills.
  • Experience working from Boom and Scissor Lifts.
  • Knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check, along with providing two professional references.
  • Possession of a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.
