The Auburn University Graduate School is looking for qualified candidates for the role of Advisor I/II/III, Graduate School Services. This position entails providing essential administrative, technical, and clerical assistance for graduate student enrollment processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Guiding students, faculty, and staff on academic regulations, including late registration and withdrawal procedures.
- Processing plans of study and committee selections, along with reviewing student transcripts for academic compliance.
- Managing graduate transfer credits and ensuring students meet graduation requirements.
- Maintaining comprehensive student records and assisting with curriculum documentation.
- Facilitating thesis and dissertation formatting, as well as scheduling student examinations.
- Handling exam documentation and related processes.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist graduate students with the admission and graduation processes, including protocol adherence and required documentation.
- Review and edit thesis and dissertation submissions for formatting compliance.
- Process forms and requests related to graduation and admissions.
- Provide administrative support for commencement program preparation and ensure proper archiving of graduate student manuscripts.
- Manage general and final defense exam requests and document results accordingly.
- Organize and assist with special events representing the Graduate School.
- Advise faculty and administrators on policies and programs related to graduate studies.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education or a related field. Relevant experience in advising or coordinating services related to student admissions or graduation processes may substitute for educational requirements at a rate of two years of experience for each year of education required.
Desired Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include advanced education beyond a Bachelor's degree, experience in higher education settings, proficiency in relevant software applications, and strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with students, faculty, and staff.
