Enhance the financial success of the pharmacy department by effectively managing the budget, controlling labor costs, conducting staff training, ensuring high-quality customer service, optimizing prescription pricing and generic use, managing inventory levels, and participating in approved clinical services.
Core Responsibilities- Execute all responsibilities of a licensed pharmacist while serving as a mentor for the pharmacy team; efficiently address customer concerns and streamline workflow to minimize wait times.
- Design, implement, and promote sales strategies and initiatives in alignment with the division's pharmacy objectives.
- Fulfill all duties expected of a registered pharmacist in compliance with legal and corporate standards.
- Guide the pharmacy team to meet inventory management goals, prevent excess stock, reduce fill-on-arrival prescriptions, and ensure staff adherence to ordering and inventory protocols.
- Adhere to all mandated procedures for controlled substances.
- Evaluate third-party insurance profitability; address issues, rejections, and audits promptly.
- Organize pharmacy staff schedules to manage labor costs effectively.
- Maintain all pharmacy documentation as required by legal and corporate policies.
- Lead the pharmacy to achieve budgeted targets for labor, volume, inventory, and sales.
- Conduct effective outreach to local healthcare providers and community stakeholders.
- Support public health initiatives and disease management services.
- Travel independently as necessary to fulfill business requirements.
- Supervise and mentor direct reports, conducting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
- Must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Participation in clinical programs following company-sponsored training.
- Willingness to pursue ongoing education as needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Capable of reading and interpreting prescriptions and related documents.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Active pharmacy license in good standing.
- Preferred: Relevant Pharmacy Board Certifications.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience in business management.
