Job Summary

UC Davis Health System is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will work closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver accurate radiation treatments to patients. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy treatments.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists
Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
Operate linear accelerators and CT-simulators to deliver radiation therapy treatments
Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and outcomes
Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy treatments

Requirements

Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification
Certificate by the State of California in Therapeutic Radiology
Certificate by the American Registry and Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy, RT (T)
Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy school
Proficient in the use of linear accelerators and CT-simulators
Knowledge of current practices in radiation therapy
Ability to understand and implement the requirements of providing patient care in a highly regulated and constantly changing environment

Working Conditions

Ability to assist in moving patients
Ability to lift 25 pounds for radiation therapy blocks
Must be willing to work variable hours and days, including weekends and holidays, as necessary
On call duties are assigned on a rotating basis and shared by all radiation therapists
