Job Summary

The Engineering/Manufacturing Electronics Assembly Technician plays a critical role in assembling, reworking, upgrading, and modifying complex new-design engineering and pre-production avionics products to meet required specifications or instructions. This position requires proficiency in electronic and electro-mechanical assembly to build prints and/or work instructions. The successful candidate will partner with engineering to enable effective manufacturing processes and ensure new product readiness for volume manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and rework circuit card assemblies, major sub-assemblies, and top-level unit assemblies to required specifications.
  • Operate standard electronic manufacturing equipment and tools with proficiency.
  • Perform mechanical assembly and dis-assembly of complex engineering development products.
  • Contribute to the development of assembly and rework instructions for new products.
  • Maintain accurate product assembly records in quality data tracking systems.
  • Ensure product compliance and quality standards are met.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in an electronics technology discipline from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience in electronic soldering and assembly.
  • Ability to pass a solder and repair skills test.
  • Capability to achieve and maintain certification in IPC 610 & J-STD soldering specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with soldering and assembly of complex analog and digital circuits.
  • Familiarity with electronic components and their applications.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, including build prints, work instructions, and parts lists.
  • Experience using hand tools for electronics assembly and rework.
  • Familiarity with Electric Static Discharge precautions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and PDF viewers.
  • Experience running surface mount (SMT) assembly lines.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
