We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Elementary Paraprofessional to join our team at Clayton County Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide student assistance for K-5 students under professional guidance and supervision of K-5 teachers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct small group or individual classroom activities with students based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
- Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including copying/duplicating of materials, construction of bulletin boards, and grading work.
- Types and processes correspondence, reports, orders, circulation, and catalog cards.
- Operate the computerized circulation system and records.
- Files catalog cards, vertical file material, and order cards.
- Assist in inventory of materials and equipment.
- Assume responsibility for operation of the media center and supervision of students in the approved absence of the media specialist.
- Assist with routine record keeping, housekeeping, and school-wide supervision such as loading/unloading buses.
- Hold an associate's degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution.
- Have completed two (2) years of college coursework (sixty [60] semester hours or [90] quarter hours) above the remedial level with a grade of "C" or better at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution.
- Have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Paraprofessional experience serving school-age children.
- Bilingual or bicultural experience required for certain positions.
This is a grade 16, 190-day position that starts at a step 6 and pays for experience up to a step 8.
