We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team in the vibrant Hartford, CT area. This full-time, in-person position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to support middle school students in their academic journey by providing individualized assistance and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement instructional activities that cater to the diverse learning needs of students in your middle school caseload.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, assisting them with academic tasks, reinforcing concepts, and promoting prehension across various subjects.
- Utilize a variety of instructional materials and technology tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment that motivates students to reach their full potential.
- Assist teachers with classroom management, organization, and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth learning experience for all students.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to foster a collaborative approach to student success.
- Foster positive relationships with students by building trust, offering encouragement, and celebrating their achievements.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting middle school students.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and middle school learning styles.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, teachers, parents, and other school staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
- A passion for education and a commitment to fostering student growth and success.
