Key Responsibilities

The role involves collaborating closely with the Head Start Teacher to deliver comprehensive educational experiences that align with the Head Start Performance Standards. The position also focuses on empowering parents as integral partners in a holistic approach to child development and self-sufficiency.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Executing food preparation tasks and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Transporting meals as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records as required.
  • Assisting in the organization of classroom health and nutrition activities.
  • Conducting daily janitorial tasks.
  • Participating in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
  • Acting as a temporary substitute in the absence of the Assistant Teacher.
  • Adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Supporting and exemplifying the organization's Behavioral Competencies.
  • Assisting with transportation logistics as needed.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Must be at least 18 years old. CPR and First Aid Certification or a willingness to obtain certification is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills is required. The ability to apply problem-solving and conflict-resolution strategies is necessary. Candidates should be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Travel within a nine-county area is expected, and a reliable mode of transportation is essential. Regular and dependable attendance is required. Candidates must successfully complete a background check and medical examination as mandated by Head Start regulations.
