Kids In Crisis is a leading agency providing emergency shelter, crisis counseling, and community educational programs for children and families dealing with various crises, including domestic violence, mental health, and family conflicts.


This role reports to the Director of Outreach and Community Initiatives and involves providing crisis intervention, conducting outreach, family meetings, intake assessments, and documentation for residential programs.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Answering crisis helpline calls, assessing needs, and implementing plans of action
  • Providing crisis intervention, conducting outreach, and family meetings
  • Collecting and documenting data related to outreach services
  • Providing case management to at-risk youth through community-based programs
  • Providing on-call outreach coverage

Additionally, this role involves:


  • Providing outreach education to area schools, police departments, and social service agencies
  • Sharing information about Kids in Crisis services at health fairs and community events
  • Networking with community agencies and attending community meetings

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field, and a minimum of two years of counseling or crisis intervention experience with youth and families. Bilingual English-Spanish is strongly preferred.
