Field Service Technician

As a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, Johnson Controls is reimagining the performance of buildings to serve people, places, and the planet. We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as an Installation and Service Technician.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on retail products and equipment at customer sites.
- Keep track of service calls via computer and perform services on various video products, EAS equipment, and RFID equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked, accounts serviced, and administrative time.
- Maintain an accurate parts inventory and process RMA's as needed.
- Responsibly operate company vehicles to and from service calls.
- Demonstrate and train customers on how to use their equipment properly.
- Update direct managers concerning customer satisfaction, potential sales opportunities, or recurring problems.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associates degree in electronics preferred or a formulized training program from a technical college, university, or military equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Previous knowledge of electronics is preferred but not required.
- State licensing as required (dependent on state).
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power tools.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
- Must be capable of working independently or as a team and have the drive and accountability to work alone.
- Functional and practical comprehension of MS Office and PC skills.
- Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities.
- Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
- Ability to review plans, diagrams, and flow charts, as well as all tools to capture the work processes associated with executing the project plan (preferred).
- Complete Basic EAS/Video new hire classroom certifications.
- Complete RFID Basic Certification.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently solving higher-level trouble-shooting skills.
