ROLE SUMMARY

The Marine Service Technician plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch service to both our team and customers by diagnosing and repairing various boat issues with precision and efficiency. This position is also pivotal in ensuring that customers experience outstanding service, encouraging their return.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose a wide range of mechanical issues using experience and analytical skills.
  • Stay updated with the latest marine diagnostic technologies.
  • Assist in mentoring new technicians.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance on engines and major components.
  • Repair various types of boats, including inboard, outboard, and trailers.
  • Help set up and test new watercraft.
  • Winterize and summarize boats of all brands.
  • Utilize a variety of shop tools and equipment proficiently.
  • Safely move boats up to 30 feet in length.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure a safe and tidy workspace.
  • Exhibit problem-solving skills and work independently.
  • Provide personal hand tools for the job.
  • Promote the MKB Holdings brand effectively.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a technical repair role preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with engines and electrical systems, and ability to handle boats up to 30 feet.
  • Trailering Skills: Proficient in safely trailering and launching boats.
  • Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment is typically medium to loud, with potential exposure to varying temperatures and outdoor conditions. The role requires standing, walking, and using hands for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.
