Job Description and Duties

As a Cook Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing vegetables, fruits, and condiments for the salad bar, following the daily salad menu. You will supervise Food Service Technicians assigned to assist in the salad preparation area and ensure that all equipment and work areas are clean and well-maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare seasonal fresh fruit and dishes for breakfast
  • Clean and maintain culinary equipment, salad bar, salad dressing cart, and work area
  • Supervise Food Service Technicians assigned to assist in the salad preparation area
  • Follow oral and written directions from supervisors and perform tasks as required
  • Learn and implement new methods and procedures for operating, cleaning, and caring for equipment and work areas
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for extended periods, frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasional bending, kneeling, squatting, and stooping. You must be able to handle hot materials and temperature extremes.

Special Requirements
  • A Background Investigation must be cleared prior to being hired
  • Medical Clearance must be obtained prior to being hired
