Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Medical Surgical Nurse (RN) to join our team at Sierra Medical Center. As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in the medical/telemetry environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and address the psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs of patients and families.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnosis and co-morbidities.
  • Coordinate the implementation of interdisciplinary plans of care for assigned patients, developing goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
  • Complete hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs, ensuring a patient-friendly and patient-safe environment.
  • Collaborate with patients' designated care partners to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
  • Utilize effective communication practices to minimize risks associated with handoffs among providers and across transitions in care, employing the SBAR process.

Requirements:

  • Current NV nursing license
  • Current BLS certificate
  • ACLS certificate
  • One year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting preferred
