Laredo Medical Center's Emergency Room is a secure, 38-bed department located on the main campus of our acute care hospital. We have Level III Trauma designation and offer a full-time Registered Nurse position.
Salary
We offer a competitive salary for this role, estimated at $80,000 to $110,000 per year, based on experience.
Job Description
The successful candidate will evaluate assigned patients, plan, implement, and document nursing care. They will assist physicians during examinations and procedures and perform various patient tests within their scope of practice as a registered nurse.
The Emergency Room Nurse will promote patients' independence by establishing care goals and teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills. This role relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Key responsibilities include evaluating patients, planning care, implementing treatments, documenting progress, assisting with medical procedures, administering medications, and promoting patient independence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Internship or 3 months' experience as an RN
- Licensed as a R.N. by the Texas State Board of Registered Nurse Examiners
- CPR, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications
Preferred qualifications include ER experience as an RN, LPN, or Nurse Tech. Letters of recommendation are preferred for applicants with less than 1 year of applicable experience in nursing.
