About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Legal Advocate to join our team at the Houston Area Women's Center. As a member of our legal services department, you will play a critical role in providing essential support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advocacy services, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and community referrals.
  • Assist clients in navigating the civil and criminal justice systems.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Public Health, or Criminal Justice.
  • Minimum one year of experience providing case management, advocacy services, or similar work with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong data-entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.

Estimated Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $64,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The position also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as generous paid time off and a 401(k) matching program.
