We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Occupational Health team at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of our department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the operations of the Occupational Health Department, including off-site and on-site tasks.
- Perform drug screen and alcohol collections, audiograms, blood pressures, Spirometers, injections, and other duties following proper procedures.
- Retrieve Drug Screen results from Quest website, enter into Agility, and report via fax to company.
- Enter charges into Agility and ICD10 Ecodes.
- Perform patient intake using EMR, documenting accurate and concise information.
- Answer phone calls and greet visitors at the door in conjunction with other staff.
- Perform various tasks for new hires or contract workers, including resp. fit, spirometry, PPD, HBV, Tetanus, Audiograms, and provide Nason New-Hire orientation books and schedule lift tests.
- Assist provider with communication to company representative as needed.
- Assist with scheduling referral appointments as needed.
- Transport patients to Radiology or ED when needed.
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program required.
- Previous experience working in a Physician's Office, Clinic, or Hospital preferred.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation, FMSCA, OSHA, FMLA, and ADA laws and regulations preferred.
- Computer skills: Occ Health Software, Microsoft Office, and EMR preferred.
- ICD10, CPT, HCPS coding experience preferred.
