As a Health Aide with the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School District, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students. Under the direct supervision of the school nurse, you will provide first aid and routine medical care to students, including administering medications and performing medical procedures for special needs students. You will also maintain accurate records of student immunizations, medications, and medical history, and communicate with parents/guardians as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to a supportive and inclusive school community.
Responsibilities:
Provide first aid and routine medical care to students, including administering medications and performing medical procedures for special needs students.
Maintain accurate records of student immunizations, medications, and medical history.
Communicate with parents/guardians as needed, including arranging transportation and gathering information about student medications and medical conditions.
Prepare and process student staff injury reports (OSHA) and maintain a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal and/or other designee.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and skills.
First aid and CPR certification.
Knowledge of STI database, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
Working Conditions:
The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
