Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our mental health team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to our patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical history, physical exams, and mental status exams to diagnose and treat mental health disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and radiological assessments as needed
  • Prescribe and manage medications to treat mental health conditions
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in psychiatric care

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Board certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  • Completion of a residency program in Psychiatry approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Geriatric Psychiatry experience
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatments for mental health conditions
