  • Scheduling and Coordination: Plan, prepare, and revise work schedules and duty assignments for multiple shifts, taking into account budgets, customer needs, workloads, and forecasts.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify the completeness and accuracy of subordinates' work, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Employee Management: Interview, select, and discharge employees, as well as provide training and development opportunities to help them grow in their roles.
  • Problem-Solving: Collaborate with other personnel to resolve problems related to equipment performance, output quality, and work schedules.
  • Record Keeping: Review records and reports related to production, operation, and payroll, ensuring that our department is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Training and Development: Train employees in work and safety procedures, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Performance Management: Manage employee performance, including teamwork development, evaluation, discipline, and recognition.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the quality of tooling and fixtures, responsible for getting new tooling and fixtures made or purchased when needed.
  • Equipment Inspection: Inspect equipment for defects and notify outside service contractors for repairs.
  • Research and Development: Perform R&D work as directed, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and innovations in the field.
  • Estimating and Job Reporting: Ensure accurate and effective estimates and job reporting, including accurate job costing and hours designated to coding.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 7-10 years of applicable experience or demonstrated abilities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of standard industry practice on machine shop operation and maintenance.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Measuring Equipment: Ability to use and read measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges.
  • BOM and CAD: Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and CAD drawings.
  • Communication Skills: Skilled communicator, both orally and written.
  • Software Skills: Skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, database management software, and manufacturing systems programs such as MRP, MRPII, and ERP.
  • Computer Skills: Must be skilled in the use of Windows-based PCs.
