As a Project Manager, you will be integral to the successful execution of significant construction initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while aligning with the university's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage strong interpersonal skills for client advisory, team leadership, and collaboration with external agencies.
  • Monitor project budgets and timelines using project management software, identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Work alongside procurement teams for bid processing, contract management, and project modifications.
  • Engage with senior leadership to assist in project prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Analyze previous projects for continuous improvement and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Interact with various stakeholders, including departmental leaders, faculty, and local authorities.
  • Provide project solutions within established budgets and timelines, educating clients on processes.
  • Oversee planning, design, and construction activities for facilities.
  • Maintain regular communication with academic and administrative departments regarding project status and needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to define project scopes and ensure successful completion.
  • Prepare final construction documents and engage with design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise project documentation and manage financial objectives through careful forecasting.
  • Utilize project scheduling tools to manage timelines and prepare progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and assist in contractor bidding processes.
  • Review contractor payment requests for accuracy and approve invoices.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate project changes as necessary.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency and workforce planning.
  • Resolve project-related issues and conduct inspections as needed.
  • Participate in committees to uphold environmentally sustainable practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
  • Exceptional oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams across all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 7 years of project management experience.
  • Experience in managing project schedules and budgets from inception to completion.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with higher education renovation and construction projects is preferred.
  • New York State registration in architecture or engineering is ideal; certifications such as PMP or LEED are a plus.

Salary Range: $98K - $103K
