The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estate Planning Attorney to join our Private Client practice in our Minneapolis office. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in estate planning, with a focus on transfer tax planning, trust and estate administration, drafting trust agreements and wills, handling probate proceedings, administering trusts, and preparing gift and estate tax returns.
This is a collaborative and motivated role in a client-focused, team-oriented environment. Candidates must possess excellent academic credentials, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision. Admission to the Minnesota bar is required, and admission to other jurisdictions or a willingness to seek admission is preferred.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of estate planning laws and regulations, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Estate planning, including drafting trust agreements, wills, and other estate planning documents
- Trust and estate administration, including handling probate proceedings and administering trusts
- Preparing gift and estate tax returns
- Collaborating with clients to understand their estate planning needs and develop tailored solutions
- Working with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of estate planning strategies
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in estate planning, preferably with a focus on transfer tax planning
- Admission to the Minnesota bar; admission to other jurisdictions or willingness to seek admission preferred
- Excellent academic credentials, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision
Benefits:
- A competitive salary range of $180,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience
