We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist to join our team at Foundation Health, LLC. As a key member of our Patient Financial Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for our patients.
Responsibilities- Perform pre-registration and registration processes, verifying insurance coverage and obtaining authorizations and notifications.
- Calculate patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits, collect deposits and copayments.
- Accurately and completely document all information into the patient records system to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Obtain all necessary signatures and documentation required by the patient's insurance plan.
- Provide financial counseling to patients and their families, explaining FHP financial policies and providing information on available resources and avenues for alternative payment arrangements.
- Act as a liaison between the patient, billing department, and payor to enhance account receivables performance, resolve outstanding issues and/or patient concerns, and to maximize service excellence.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Excellent customer service skills and knowledge, normally acquired with one (1) or more years of related work experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously between heavy phone volume, multiple computer systems, and frequent interruptions with minimal supervision and ability to work independently.
- Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Medical terminology experience.
- Prior experience with hospital registration and prior authorizations.
- Notary license and experience.
