Position Overview

This role involves overseeing the maintenance and cultivation of grounds within a correctional facility. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Building Trades Supervisor and will be responsible for various landscaping and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct general landscaping duties including planting, watering, and caring for vegetation, shrubs, and trees.
  • Ensure the safety and security of both personnel and property while supervising inmate workers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the grounds, including the upkeep of tools and equipment.
  • Instruct and lead inmate crews in gardening and maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of plants and grounds, taking necessary actions to address any issues.
  • Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies for grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the necessary qualifications and experience in grounds maintenance and horticulture. Background checks and health screenings will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
