Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Greet patients warmly, answer phone calls promptly, and maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  2. Facilitate Smooth Patient Flow: Cross-cover in all areas, generate encounter forms, and notify clinical staff of patients' readiness for appointments.
  3. Ensure Accurate Records: Obtain demographic and insurance information, scan ID's and insurance cards, and maintain up-to-date records.
  4. Support Revenue Goals: Collect and post co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, and review patients' insurance coverage.
  5. Schedule Appointments: Schedule return appointments in accordance with scheduling guidelines and provider orders.
  6. Manage Cash and Credit Card Transactions: Post quick pay receipts, count and log cash drawer daily, and assist with segregation of accounting duties.
  7. Protect Patient Confidentiality: Comply with HIPAA provisions and practice policy when using or disclosing medical records.
  8. Comply with OSHA Requirements: Maintain a working knowledge of safety procedures and minimize risk to patients, coworkers, and self.
  9. Organize Practice Information: Route calls to the appropriate staff person or provider, take complete and accurate messages, and provide clerical assistance as needed.
  10. Contribute to Teamwork: Expand job knowledge through relevant workshops and continuing education, become cross-trained in other staff duties, and maintain certifications as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical office assisting curriculum preferred
  • Prior customer service/business office experience; preferable in a medical facility; EHR experience helpful
