GI Tech Position at USPI Crown Point Surgery Center

USPI Crown Point Surgery Center is seeking a skilled GI Tech to contribute to our team's success. As a GI Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families in a fast-paced ASC environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance, preparation, and cleaning of equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform equipment safety checks to ensure proper functioning, adhering to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Provide assistance to nurses and physicians during procedures, including specimen collection.
  • Maintain stocked rooms and recognize the need for reordering supplies, assisting the purchaser with reordering as needed.
  • Transport and transfer patients and equipment using recommended body mechanics.
  • Maintain files and documents in an organized system as required.
  • Respond to patients and their families promptly, demonstrating effective customer service skills.
  • Participate in activities promoting professional growth and behavior.
  • Follow OSHA and other standards for protection against blood-borne pathogens.
  • Use good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
  • Assist in placing patient monitors according to nurse directions.
  • Mentor new technicians and recommend changes to orientation as necessary.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the physical environment of the Center.
  • Communicate with equipment repair as needed.
  • Communicate with Charge Nurse regarding workflow.
  • Maintain professionalism within the Center and community.
  • Inform Charge Nurse of applicable day-to-day situations.
  • Adhere to employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate hand-eye coordination for manual dexterity required to handle various types of equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Exhibit walking, bending, turning, and lifting agility to physically move patients and equipment.
  • Maintain HIPAA standards and confidentiality.
  • Work effectively with a variety of people.
  • Adhere to State, CMS, and AAAHC requirements.

Preferred Experience:

  • One year of experience as a GI tech is preferred.
