About the Role

Aya Locums is seeking a skilled Gastroenterology Specialist to join our team in Seneca, SC. As a locum gastroenterologist, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children, utilizing your expertise in gastroenterology principles and practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations, leveraging your strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including endoscopies, X-rays, CT scans, and blood tests, to inform your treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, collaborating with surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists as needed to ensure coordinated care.
  • Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient care, utilizing your technical proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures (if applicable).
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Fellowship training in gastroenterology (may be preferred depending on the position).
  • Board certification in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in South Carolina.
