Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As an ED RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working collaboratively with an interprofessional team to achieve the best individual patient and population outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze assessment data, and create a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Administer medications safely and effectively, consistent with state practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
- Serve as a patient safety advocate, participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives in the department.
- Manage and meet the physical and emotional demands of emergency nursing care, applying knowledge of contemporary emergency nursing practice and future innovations.
- Collaborate with outside agencies in coordinating care, including protective agencies, law enforcement, and emergency medical services.
- Understand and consider the episodic, primary, and short-term nature of emergency nursing care, occurring in various settings.
Requirements:
- Current RN license in the state of employment or covered by compact.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire, must obtain from an approved source prior to direct patient care).
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (preferred).
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (preferred).
- NPR Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification (preferred).
- TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course certification (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
- 1 year of RN experience (required).
- Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience (preferred).
Working Conditions:
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
