The Texas Military Department is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist IV to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities through advanced maintenance and repair operations.
Organization: Texas Military Department
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate complex construction, restoration, and maintenance projects.
- Conduct inspections and evaluations of structures to determine necessary maintenance and repair actions.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on various systems including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Manage administrative tasks related to the Planning Resources for Infrastructure Development and Evaluation (PRIDE) database.
- Supervise the work of other maintenance personnel as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain and repair electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical equipment.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to guide maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Order materials and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in maintenance practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in maintenance, construction, or repair work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
- Preferred: Vocational training in a relevant trade and certifications in electrical, HVAC, or plumbing.
Working Conditions:
This position requires both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions. The role may involve lifting heavy materials and working with tools for extended periods.
