As a Vocational Nurse with UTMB Health, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals in need of healthcare services.

### Key Responsibilities

* Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications and treatments
* Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care given
* Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures
* Review and modify the plan of care under supervision
* Deliver designated nursing interventions to assigned patients
* Notify nursing and medical staff of changes in patient status
* Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to infection control procedures

### Work Environment

This role is located within a correctional facility, requiring security clearance and pre-employment drug testing. You will work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

### Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas
* Current BLS-HP certification
* Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience
