Responsibilities

The Electrical Installation and Maintenance Instructor will be responsible for:

  • Teaching Electrical Installation and Maintenance courses, including Electrical Circuits and Theory, Electrical Code, and Safety Procedures, in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes.
  • Developing and implementing instructional materials, including syllabi, course calendars, and assessment tools, to ensure student progress and success.
  • Establishing and maintaining office hours, communicating with students, and providing feedback on their work.
  • Reviewing and updating course outlines, text selection, and syllabi in collaboration with other faculty members and academic chairs.
  • Proposing and developing new courses, curriculum, and programs to meet the needs of students and the community.
  • Assisting in recruitment and retention of students through the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Current industry certification and five years of occupational experience in Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
  • Associate's degree with more than 5 years of experience, and certified to teach/train OSHA10 and OSHA30 level classes.
  • The ability to collaborate with outside construction companies and agencies to enhance and grow the Electrical Installation and Maintenance program.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Current knowledge of Electrical Installation and Maintenance principles and practices.
  • The ability to develop, prepare, and evaluate instructional materials that promote learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to cooperate with other college employees and students.
